The contest for the mouth-watering prizes took an ecstatic dimension today as the contestants treated the whole of West Africa to Global Urban Hits in preparation for the grand-finale. It’s been a exhilarating 10 weeks for all the contestants on their journey to fame. With seventeen contestants at the opening gala, six contestants are at this stage contending for the grand prize. Who then will carry the day? On a very intense note, Ethel who has been christened the ‘Queen of Ghana Swagger’ opened the floor with Britney Spear’s ‘Till The World Ends’. At this point, the judges could not but wonder at her improved skills and the ease at which she now performs. Roy brought an A-game to play and showed that he is not just the last man standing but he is very much up to the challenge. He gave a very electrifying performance of Maroon 5’s ‘Move like a Jagger’. He blew everyone away and got us all moving like a jagger.
Pretty Yvonne rose up to the task as she comfortably held everyone spellbound with Adele’s ‘Someone like you’. Her sonorous voice and smooth transition from normal voice to falsetto was well commended by the judges and the faculty felt so proud of her. Energetic Ruth proved how matured she has grown with a spot-on vocal dexterity as she performed Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’. Monica raised the bar again tonight with Chris Brown’s ‘Yeah x3’. Her energetic and captivating dance steps were just on-point and she was christened ‘the most focused singer’.
