Mother of all Auditions!
Thursday, 15 September 2011 11:50
All roads in Lagos and its environ led to LTV 8 premises on the 9th and 10th of September 2011. It wasn't a National Conference neither was it the venue for a Governor's town meeting, it was the audition venue of Project Fame West Africa 4.
Very early in the morning, despite the rain, thousands of music star hopefuls flooded the gates of the audition venue in a bid to sing their way to fame. Lagos babes and guys, decked to the teeth, with top notch swag, all with just one aim, to impress the judges. The venue was great, the weather was cold and wet but the contestants were more than ready. To add colour to the event there were side attractions as some contestants thrilled their fellow contestants with impeccable dance steps as the DJ dolled out tunes while others engaged in a rap battle. Freebies were available for the contestants also.
Tension, excitement, thrills and drama all laced the air as the contestants filed in to see the judges. while some wowed the judges, some could not perform up to expectation and of course the judges felt some other people don't have business being in the singing competition in the first place.
Stunning performances, the frenzied dancing outside the audition halls, and yes we discovered enough talent in Lagos. The judges were wowed; but on the other hand, we had the wacky, the unbelievably ridiculous, the lost and those living in the past. Judges must indeed be blessed with a lot of patience. One of the contestants from season 3 who passed through the Academy and made it to the final 6, Uchuko was around to encourage the contestants and give them some tips to help them impress the judges. One of the contestants was interviewed, who had gone round four audition states, Lagos being the fifth, in an attempt to get a ‘yes’ from one of the sets of judges in one of the venues!!
The days came to a halt when, despite the huge turn-out,all the contestants have been given a chance to sing for the judges.
Some got a YES,some NO while some got a "please look for another profession" verdict from the judges.
For those that got a YES,the battle has just begun...
MTN PROJECT FAME WEST AFRICA, WHATTAAAA FEEELINGGGGG......
Lagos, The City of Glam Welcomes Project Fame 5!
Sunday, 29 July 2012 12:46
Lagos has got swags, big time! After the postponement of the auditions from the 23rd of June 2012 to 13th-14th July 2012, Ultima Studios, Lekki played host to the teeming hopefuls in Lagos and its environs who have made up their mind to give stardom a chance.
Before 8am, the entire venue of the auditions was already over-packed with contestants. It was a bright morning with much anticipation laced with excitement, the contestants all colourfully dressed in different fabrics and attires, and diverse hairstyles which characterises the glam and class in Lagos (Eko for show) - some of them had different musical instruments to accompany the songs chosen for the day, others have earphones already plugged in their ears, probably listening to the song which would determine their fate for the day. Some others printed out lyrics of different songs from the internet while some others had theirs written in ink in their notepads, and some obviously had theirs written on the tablets of their hearts. Which of these worked best? Guess your response is time will tell...
The final 24 auditions!
Tuesday, 11 October 2011 10:10Who watched the final 24 audition aired on TV day on sunday?
Think of it, these guys and ladies stand as the best 24 from amongst the thousands auditioned in Abuja, Ghana, Ibadan, Kaduna, Lagos, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Uyo!
They’ve come a long way, but it isn’t over yet, as they had to slug it out before the judges during this audition to be among the 19 that would make it to the next stage of the competition.
As you can imagine, they each reached into deepest parts of their beings and summoned every ounce of musical talent in them to please the judges. But, for a certain five-some, their best wasn’t good enough to ferry them through to the next stage of PF4; and for the 19 that made it through, another battle lies ahead as more people will be dropped at the coming stage.
Congratulations Aziga, Chidinma, Damilare, Emmanuel, Ese, Ethel, Isaac, Joba, Joe, Kamal, Monica, Princess, Rachel, Roy, Ruth, Temitope , Velma, Yvonne and Zaliha; enjoy the spotlight for now until some of you get dropped from this train.
The talented 15-year old Brenda is worthy of mention. She came and wowed both the audience and the judges but did not get a chance to go further because she is under-aged.But her efforts did not go unrewarded as TY Mix made up his mind to Produce her single, and sponsored by the communication giant, MTN.
