The night ushered in a tinge of tension as the show kicked off with the contestants performing ‘Lagos Jump’ by Third World. The Group Performance was simply scintillating.
The moment arrived where all contestants became apprehensive as the five names with the least votes were called. In no particular order, they were: Modele, Shehu, Lindsey, Gold, and Joecelia.
All five had to be outstanding with their performance in order to escape eviction. First up was Pretty Lindsey as she tried her best with Tracy Chapman’s ‘Give Me One Reason’, but was it really good enough? Shehu struggled through ‘Kiss the Rain’ by Tracy Chapman. Gold sang ‘WAIDI’ by Asa, unfortunately, it didn’t earn her much applause, Modele gave her shot as she performed Tracy Chapman's "You're The One". Lastly was Joecelia, who sang Asa’s ‘Fire on the Mountain’ with all the strength she could muster. She impressed the Judges, Faculty and the audience.
After a brief deliberation, the Judges decided to save Modele, Joecelia was saved by the Faculty, and after two rounds of voting (the first had a tie between Lindsey and Shehu), the Contestants saved Shehu.
Lindsey and Gold finally bade farewell to the MTN Project Fame Season 3 Academy, after having their last performance on the MTN Project Fame stage, Gold sang Jimmy Cliff’s ‘Many Rivers to Cross’ excellently, and “I Don’t Wanna Dance’ by Eddy Grant was performed by Lindsey. From a short interview with them, they expressed their appreciation to the Faculty and promised to build on the platform that has been given them.
We are wishing them well in their future endeavours.
