Sunday, 19 August 2012 14:22
The very first elimination show for the season started in a grand style with group performances from the contestants.
While the Female contestants did a beautiful ensemble of 'Don't Let Go' by En Vogue and the boys taking up the
challenge with Backstreet boys’ 'Don't Leave Me'.
As Joseph Benjamin unavoidably absent on the show, Adora seamlessly hosted the show and introduced the fifteen (15) contestants
whose fate in the Academy would be determined on the show.
With rising perspirations, Adora invited Yeside Oredugba of Alexander Forbes who came prepared to present the list of the five (5) contestants
with the least number of votes and who would have to perform their way out of the claws of probation.
Academy Day 8: Edward Becomes the Captain for the week
Tuesday, 14 August 2012 14:29
Everyone raced into the class at the sight of Uncle Ben. No one dare come to his class late but Edward-captain for the week and Grace too were caught in the late-comer's net but he pardoned them.
He declared this week as R&B week, where the contestants will be taking up recent R&B songs and some that are quite vintage; and also group performances with the boys singing against the girls. He then went ahead to read out the songs they will be performing this weekend and also did not fail to remind them that some of them will sadly kiss the Academy goodbye this saturday.
Edward Wright
Sunday, 05 August 2012 17:41
Edward Wright made it into the Academy finally after four (4) initial attempts, but left with Tega Apochi at the second week of the competition.
Here is one of his stage performances:
He is a 26 year-old and has being doing music and song-writing for a living since his college days. He has a little daughter and a girlfriend both of whom he loves very much. He says he’s a good guy but doesn’t smile much because his eyes have seen ‘too many things’ during the savage war years that besieged Sierra-Leone.
Edward says he isn’t religious but is quite spiritual and is very connected to God. He certainly doesn’t see himself as a ladies’ man but is not averse to making new friends along the way, if they can accept him for who he is.
In Edward's words, 'I'm fulfilled and you all should watch out for me'. Ride on Edward...
