Academy (42)
While the D-day draws closer and the tension rises, the contestants work harder to give their best this weekend. Rehearsals in top gear at Miss Ige’s class and also in Uncle Ben’s class warming. Miss Ige took time to dwell on Ese’s song which seem to be a bit challenging especially with the not-so-easy notes in the song.
She was able to pull through the initial challenges as she rehearsed well and learn the emotional requirement of her song in Uncle Ben’s class. The others took turns to rehearse under Uncle Ben’s tutelage but Monica did not escape his wrath as he sent her out of the class for giggling unnecessarily in class, next to be sent of class was Ethel for not doing her home work well before coming for the class.
He later invited them back into the class but punished Ese, Monica and Ethel for not doing their song well. A tedious task of cleaning the entire mirror in the music room was their punishment.
As the competition draws to its final, make your favourite contestant the winner by sending his/her unique number to 306 from an MTN line if in Liberia and Nigeria, from Comium line if in Sierra Leone and text to 1739 if in Ghana. Ese(4), Ethel(5), Monica(10), Roy(13), Ruth(14) and Yvonne(16) need your votes now more than before.
Project Fame...
The contestants were still excited and basking in the euphoria of their new place of abode, when Mummy J came in for her class. They were glad to have her in the Academy for the first time and her class was commendation all the way. She talked about their last performances and took time to analyze them one after the other.
It was also Uncle Ben’s first class in the Academy. Ethel came in late for the class but found grace in the sight of Uncle Ben, he congratulated them all for their last performances and encouraged them to work harder for the final huddle. In preparation for the final lap of the competition, they were all asked to choose a song they would want to relive;
At last, the final six contestants made it to the Academy! Wow. Their excitement knew no bounds as they got in surprise entrance into their new abode. Seventeen contestants made it to the boot camp but six contestants made it to the Promised Land. Awesome!
As though that wasn’t enough, they were all given the opportunity to call someone. Yvonne called Dad, Ese her boyfriend, Ethel called her boyfriend too, Monica called her parents, Roy talked to his Dad and he gave his fatherly advice, and Ruth also called Daddy and it was a beautiful display of their dialect.
These contestants sure have missed their family and can’t wait to go back to their families but not without winning the competition. So keep voting for favourite to make him/her your winner!
These contestants need your votes to scale through,so they made it to Naija FM to solicit for your votes. Ese(4), Ethel(5), Monica(10), Roy(13), Ruth(14), and Yvonne(16) sang ‘we wish you a merry christmas’ for everyone in the studio after having a time out on air.
It was song interpretation in Mummy J’s class especially as they prepare for their personal composition night. Miss Ige’s class was rehearsals and more rehearsals even as they get set for the weekend...
It has always been said that ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. With a lot of excitement and joy the contestants made their way to the cinema leaving all the hardwork of boot camp behind.
Wow! They were all short of words and a bit indecisive as to what movie to watch. But they eventually settled into one and had fun all the way before heading back to the boot camp...
Yippee! It’s Christmas. Miss Ige doled out the different songs for the carol nite this weekend. Immediately the ambience changed as they all got into the mood of the season. They also have Naija dance hits, and a group song to prepare for.
Uncle Ben’s class was rehearsal all the way. In his usual funny meanness, he took them through the rigours of rehearsals and they all seem to be up to the challenge.
Miss Kaffy was available to ginger them especially with the Naija dance hits. After her exit from the boot camp, they all settled down to the business of rehearsing.
These last six contestants still need your votes to scale through to the end, keep voting for your favourite!
Academy Day 49: Princess and Rachael's Party!
Princess and Rachael’s exit from the competition was unexpected but they took it in good fate, thanking God for having made it thus far. They then made their way to the venue of their eviction party.
It was another fun and excitement time as these budding stars met with their fans, and ‘Dizzy’ was on ground as the compere for the evening.
When asked to predict the winner of the competition – Monica was Rachael’s pick, while Ese was Princess’ choice. After this brief interview, they went ahead to have a blast with their fans. With so much to eat and drink... the party started in a grand style and continued to the wee hours.
We wish them all the best...
The end is in sight! The RAV 4 and cash and recording contract are within grasp!! You decide who win now!!! With three more weeks to the end of season 4, Ese(4), Ethel(5), Princess(xx), Rachael(xx), Roy(13), and Yvonne(16) are fighting their way to remain in the competition.
In today’s class, Uncle Ben took them through the songs they will all be performing this weekend. Ethel was first to sing, then Princess as each of them took turns to rehearse their songs and finally together they rehearsing group song ‘Olori Oko’ by Infinity. Though not so smooth yet, they are all working hard to give nothing but the best this weekend, even as Uncle Ben in his usual funny but strict manner encouraged them to put their very best and not perform below standard when they get on stage.

Later in the day, they all made their way into town to solicit for votes. Ruth and Monica came along with them even as they stopped by Beat FM. The presenters lightly scolded but still encouraged them and applauded Monica and Ruth for a good performance. From there, they took off to NYSC Orientation Camp, Lagos where all the Corps Members in camp were eagerly waiting for their arrival. Getting on stage, the contestants sang individually to the listening pleasure of everyone, but Roy got everyone on their feet in excitement as he performed the ‘NYSC Anthem’. Youths obey the clarion call....
The contestants’ on probation’s clarion call for your votes is high. To vote for your favourite, text his/her unique number to 306 from an MTN line if in Liberia, Nigeria, or Sierra Leone. But peeps in Ghana can text to 1739.
Project Fame... whatta feeling!
Academy Day 44: Personal Composition with Cobhams
It was drama time in Mummy J’s class and drama with a difference. The first scene had Rachael and Ethel as tables, Ruth as a cultist who came to warn Yvonne a lecturer, with Roy directing the scene. The next scene had the table turning in the favour of Ethel and Rachael while Yvonne and Ruth took over the table position. This led to other more interesting scenes; it is evident that these contestants can do more than just sing and are really talented in other ways.
